Tom Cruise's next "Mission: Impossible" movie is delayed and probably will alter its name

On June 28, 2024, Tom Cruise's subsequent "Mission: Impossible" movie was scheduled for release. The movie's release date has now been delayed for over a year, so fans will now have to wait a bit longer. May 23, 2025, has been verified as the new release date by The Hollywood Reporter.

But that's not the only modification. 'Mission: Impossible -- Dead Reckoning Part Two', the movie's previously stated title, is also getting a facelift. The journal also said that a new title is in the works.

'Dead Reckoning Part 1', the preceding installment, was well received when it was released in July 2023. The next installment, however, has been delayed as a result of Hollywood strikes that have forced a full halt to production.

Not just this movie but many other Hollywood films have had scheduling problems as a result of these labor disputes.

The story of Mission: Impossible from 2023 is anticipated to be continued in Mission: Impossible 8. According to ANI, the eighth Mission will be shown in Imax theaters for a whole three weeks and is being filmed using Imax cameras. This occurs when MI 7 abruptly lost its Imax displays due to Oppenheimer.

Box Office for MI: 7

Shortly before Barbenheimer's global phenomenon, Christopher McQuarrie's eighth "Mission" had its theatrical debut. It brought in $567,535,383 (about 4,714 crore) globally. The 'Mission: Impossible' films are renowned for their usual high-octane stunts, which are often carried out by Cruise himself. It now serves as the movie' primary marketing vehicle.

Los Angeles strike

While screenwriters have resumed work, actors and actresses in motion pictures and television are still on strike. As a result of unsuccessful studio negotiations, the strike has now lasted 100 days, making it the longest in the industry's history. The actors' union and a significant studio coalition announced in a joint statement on the same day that talks will resume on October 24 and that numerous studio executives are anticipated to attend.
