Mohan Bhagwat warns against efforts to stoke emotions before elections at RSS Vijayadashmi Utsav

Prior to the 2024 general elections, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat issued a warning against attempting to get support by stirring up emotions during the RSS Vijayadashami Utsav in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Bhagwat advised people to vote with consideration for the nation's progress, identity, and togetherness. The RSS leader also urged cutting down on unnecessary spending and boosting job possibilities in the nation.

Bhagwat performed 'Shastra Pooja' at the Vijayadashami Utsav, with Shankar Mahadevan, a singer and composer, serving as the event's primary guest.

Bhagwat paid respect to KB Hedgewar, the organization's founder.

Bhagwat also said that "with every passing year, the respect for Indians is increasing in the world, which we are all experiencing ourselves," while discussing India's achievements at the G20 Summit. Indians' hospitality was much admired when the G20 Summit was held here (in India).

Bhagwat urged voters to cast their votes ahead of the elections in the five states.

"Consider who is excellent and who has done good work with a serene mind...The general people in India has seen it all...Give to those who deserve it, he continued.

The head of the RSS attacked those he said were preventing India from progressing.

"...There are certain individuals in the world, including those in India, who oppose India's progress... They strive to create conflicts and factions in society. We also sometimes get trapped in it due to our ignorance and lack of conviction, which causes unneeded annoyances to be produced. They consistently fight against India's growth because they fear that it would prevent them from playing their games. They embrace certain ideas only to be opposed, the RSS Chief said.

The RSS Chief urged the civil society to bridge the gap of distrust amongst people in a speech about the violence that had broken out in Manipur.

Which forces are aiming to incite hate and violence by starting an incident as soon as any constructive action is perceived to be made in that direction in Manipur, where people on both sides of the conflict are seeking peace? It will need many measures to address this serious issue. We would require a strong political will, coordinated effort, and effectiveness to tackle this perplexing issue. In addition, the society's enlightened leadership will have a specific role to play in overcoming the mistrust that has developed between the two populations as a result of the sad scenario.

Bhagwat commented on the Ram temple in Ayodhya, saying, "A temple of Lord Ram is being erected there...On January 22, the temple will host the installation of the Lord Ram (idol). We may plan events at our own temples around the nation on that day.
