Inflows into equity mutual funds decline in September 2023: AMFI statistics


According to statistics from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), equities mutual funds declined in September. The statistics indicated that although large-cap funds had withdrawals, midcap and small-cap funds continue to enjoy inflows. Equity mutual funds had net inflows of 13,857 crore in September as opposed to 20,161 crore in August.


Outflows in the debt fund category increased dramatically. Inflows into small-cap funds totaled $2,678 crore. The amount of midcap funds was 2,001 crore.




Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) inflows were 16,402 crores as of August 2023 as opposed to 15,814 crores. According to AMFI statistics, the total Asset Under Management (AUM) for the mutual fund sector was 46.58 lakh crore as of September 30.


Mutual Funds: AMFI data shows a net inflow of $2,234.52 crore for Multi Cap Fund in September 2023.


a net outflow of Rs110.60 billion from large-cap funds


A net inflow of 1,334.19 crore was made to large and mid size funds.


2,000.88 crore net inflow was made to a mid-cap fund.

In August 2023, mutual fund SIPs reach a record level.

Through mutual fund companies' systematic investment plans (SIPs), investors invested a record-breaking 15,813 crore in August. As of the end of August, the total AUM for retail investors' wagers on equities and hybrid schemes was 24.38 lakh crore, spread over 12.30 crore portfolios.
