Mr. Albanese will spend two days in Ahmedabad and will see the fourth Test match between India and Australia's toss alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. Before leaving for India, Mr. Albanese told a radio station that he had spent six weeks backpacking across India in 1991 and was accustomed to spicy food.

Stronger ties in the fields of education, business, and culture are about to begin, Mr. Albanese added.
Mr. Albanese is anticipated to depart for Mumbai and receive a Guard of Honour at the INS Vikrant on Thursday morning after his engagement at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He is anticipated to arrive that evening in the national capital. On Friday morning, he will be given a formal welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, and then he and Mr. Modi will meet at Hyderabad House for delegation-level negotiations.
As the first Australian Prime Minister to travel to India twice in a calendar year, Mr. Albanese is anticipated to make another trip there in September for the G20 conference.
