Apple is hiring retail store employees and other staff members in India as unconfirmed reports suggest that its first flagship store will open as early as March this year.

Amid preparations to open its first flagship location in India, Apple is hiring retail store employees and other employees in the country. The company is expected to launch two stores in Delhi and Mumbai in the first half of this year. The launch was reportedly delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple's careers page recently added openings for 12 different job functions including Technical Specialist, Business Specialist, Senior Manager, Store Leader and 'Genius' who will work from 'various locations within India'. Some cryptic listings were added on Thursday and several job descriptions also indicate key retail roles.

"We're looking for people who derive great satisfaction from helping people develop lifelong relationships with Apple every day. An Apple Store is a retail environment like no other – one that specializes in delivering unique customer experiences." focused from," explains a listing for Apple Retail 'Specialists.

It is pertinent to note here that the listing may indicate hundreds of job openings. A typical Apple Store has at least a hundred employees, with the number rising to nearly a thousand at major locations.

While reports of Apple expanding to India have not been officially confirmed, the listing indicates that the company is already looking at locations beyond the widely reported 22,000 sq ft outlet in Mumbai.

In recent weeks, several individuals have also announced on LinkedIn that they have been hired for yet-to-be-announced stores. Many of these posts were 'celebrated' on the social networking site by Renu Sewanti, Apple's head of recruitment in India.
