Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki expressed his condolences to India over the loss of 134 lives due to the collapse of a suspension bridge in Gujarat's Morbi district.

The Morbi Bridge, a colonial-era bridge over the Machu River, was packed with spectators enjoying holiday festivities when it collapsed on Sunday evening, drowning people in about 10 meters (33 ft) of water. The more than a century old bridge over the Machhu river in Morbi, located about 300 km from state capital Gandhinagar, reopened five days ago after extensive repairs and renovations.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered by the Gujarat Police for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and attempt to murder, which is not murder, against private agencies in the bridge collapse incident in Gujarat's Morbi district.

The police also pointed out that the management person/agency did not check the proper care and quality of the bridge and kept it open for public on October 26, showing serious negligence.
