Several people were hurt when the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express train collided with a halted train in Kavarapettai, Tamil Nadu, on Friday. Following the incident, two coaches on the train derailed and one caught fire, according to PTI.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, there was a rear accident in Kavaraipettai close to the Ponneri-Kavarapettai sector. Indian Railways stated in a statement that the crew of train 12578) felt a severe shock as the train entered a loop or line and collided with a stubbled good train.

"Train passed PON at 20.27 hours. The train crew encountered a strong jerk as the train entered the loop line and collided with a stuck good train." Six carriages derailed due to the train engine.
