Amit Shah discusses the floods and rainfall situation with the chief ministers of Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat



Shah asked Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, about the state's water condition during their phone conversation. Sources claimed that Sarma informed Shah on the current state of affairs and the actions that have been done so far.


According to reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with the chief ministers of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam on Monday to assess the situation in those states after flooding and severe rains. He also promised them of all available government assistance.

The Union home minister assessed the situation in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat due to increasing river levels after significant rainfall in his calls to Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath and Bhupendra Patel.


According to reports, Shah promised the three chief ministers that the Central government will help them in every way possible to handle the crisis.


109 persons have died in Assam as a result of floods and rain-related events thus far. In the districts of Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup, Kamrup Metropolitan, Karimganj, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, and Sivasagar in Assam, floods impacted around 5,97,600 people.


In Uttar Pradesh, floods destroyed around 1,500 villages across 22 districts, and many people perished in rain-related accidents.
