Uncooked food and tatty seats: AI business-class passenger describes a "nightmare" journey to the US

Vineeth K, a passenger, chose Air India since it offers non-stop service to the US, despite the fact that Gulf airline Etihad was offering lower flights. He made this decision in a post on the microblogging site 'X' on Saturday.

"Bad food, worn out seat, dirty seat cover, non-working TV (all) for Rs 500000 (round trip), Damaged my luggage," Vineet K said.

A business-class traveler on an Air India New Delhi-Newark aircraft operated by the Tata Group has claimed that the airline gave him "uncooked" food and that the chairs were filthy, calling the trip "no less than a nightmare".

Vineeth K, a passenger, chose Air India since it offers non-stop service to the US, despite the fact that Gulf airline Etihad was offering lower flights. He made this decision in a post on the microblogging site 'X' on Saturday.

"Our flight yesterday was nothing short of a disaster. Business class (office travel) was reserved. Of the 35 chairs, at least five were broken, the others were dirty, and they were worn out," he claimed.

Vineeth stated, "After settling for 30 minutes post takeoff, I wanted to get to sleep (3.30 AM), as well as realised that my seat doesn't go to a flat bed, reason it's not operational." He said that the aircraft had taken off after a 25-minute delay. We are waiting for Air India's reaction on the issue.

The customer said, "I recently moved to Air India as they provided direct flights to NY, Chicago, and London after flying with Etisalat for a few years. These are my frequent travel destinations."

Vineeth claims he asked the staff to switch seats and was given a different one.

"Woke up after a few hours, the food was served and it being uncooked (never faced this in AI), the fruits were stale (everyone boarding returned back)," he said in his article.

"Screen and TV never worked. Not that I would have watched; I tried, but the page returned a 'Not Found' message. The traveler said, "After all of this, the last nail in the coffin is that they broke my luggage."

"Bad food, worn out seat, dirty seat cover, not functioning TV (all) for Rs 500000 (round trip), Destroyed my luggage," Vineet K said.
