June 17, 2018 is a bank holiday in India. In observance of Eid al-Adha, which falls on this day, all state and private banks will be closed. In addition, banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on June 18 in observance of Eid.

June 17, Bank Holiday: In observance of Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakri Eid, all Indian banks, including the State Bank of India (SBI), will be closed today, June 17. In addition, the bank holiday for Eid will be extended in the state of Jammu & Kashmir by one day, to June 18. 

Notably, banks will get an extended weekend off after their Sunday break on June 16. For convenience or in an emergency, customers may use online banking services. For urgent transactions, you may also utilize the ATMs, the banks' mobile applications, or their websites.

June 2024: Bank Holidays This Month

There will be a minimum of twelve bank holidays in June 2024 because to local celebrations, religious holidays, and weekends. This covers all Sundays off as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. There are five Sundays in particular this month. 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) schedules the annual bank holidays in consultation with the different state governments. Because of this, the list of holidays may vary from state to state based on local regulations.

Note that holidays differ across India, thus in order to make better plans, customers should verify any holidays mentioned with the bank branch that is closest to them.

June 2024: Upcoming Bank Holidays

June 18: Banks in Jammu & Kashmir will be closed on Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakri Eid. 

On June 21, various states will shut their banks in observance of Vat Savitri Vrat.

Weekend holidays: June 16, 22, 23, and 30 are bank holidays in India that fall on Saturdays and Sundays.
