Banks will be open countrywide on June 29, 2024, with the exception of Kohima, Nagaland, where local elections are scheduled. Internet banking is still accessible everywhere. National Statistics Day and the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul are both commemorated.
The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) instructions state that on Saturday, June 29, 2024, banks would be open. The first and third Saturdays of the month are typically when banks are open, with the second and fourth Saturdays being closed. Since this year's June features a fifth Saturday, banks nationwide will be open on this day.
The state of Nagaland is an exception, however. In particular, because of the municipal and town council elections on June 29, banks in Kohima will be closed on that day. The RBI's strategy of assigning holidays for noteworthy regional events is in line with this localized shutdown.
