Exams for CA in May 2024

In May 2024, an astounding 4.36 lakh candidates are scheduled to sit for the CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Exams. In the 75-year history of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), this is the largest number of students taking examinations.

Concurrently, it has been declared that the CA Final Exam will still take place twice a year, and the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate Exams would be conducted three times a year. The CA Foundation and CA Intermediate Exams will now take place in January, May/June, and September instead of May/June and November. Exams for the Final, however, will still only be held in May and November. This was determined during the Institute's Thursday meeting. ICAI will provide more information soon.

Students who have finished their study time and don't want to wait two months to take the test will profit from the institute's decision. Exam frequency is rising globally in order to provide students with more possibilities. ICAI was bringing itself into line with international norms. This has been implemented in an effort to support young students who want to pursue a career in chartered accounting.

There are 8.5 lakh students and 4 lakh members of ICAI at the moment. According to the President of ICAI, India would need 30 lakh Chartered Accountants (CAs) by 2047, when it will rank among the developed world's countries.
