Patna: On Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and NDA MLAs arrived at Vidhan Bhawan for the Bihar Assembly floor test of his administration.

A proposal to remove RJD leader and speaker of the Bihar Assembly, Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, from the state assembly was filed by BJP MLA Nandkishore Yadav. Following this, Awadh Bihari Chaudhary was ousted from his presidency.


A total of 125 members supported the NDA alliance's request during the no-confidence vote. 112 MLAs abstained from the proposed vote.


"No law and order existed," Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticized RJD.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar claimed before of the trust vote that the RJD was engaging in corrupt activities when the party was in power in the state and that an investigation would be conducted by the newly formed NDA-led administration.


Speaking in the Assembly, Kumar said that women's safety had reached its lowest point and that there had been many communal riots in Bihar under the RJD government.


"There was no rule of law. Prior to 2005, RJD was engaging in corrupt activities while it was in power."I'll look into it," he said.


Only recently, Kumar had left the 'grand coalition', of which the RJD was an integral part, and rejoined the NDA in order to establish the government with the backing of the BJP.


The rule of law in the state is the "top priority" of the Nitish Kumar administration, according to Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Monday. "The government's top priority is maintaining the rule of law in the state," he said. To strengthen peace and order, the force strength of the police has been strengthened, according to Arlekar.


Nitish Kumar's resignation as chief minister and departure from the Grand Alliance headed by the Congress necessitated the confidence vote. He required a confidence vote in the Assembly since, after his agreement with the BJP-led NDA, he took the oath of office as the ninth Chief Minister of Bihar.


Nitish Kumar was apparently disappointed, according to media sources, that he was not elected convenor of India, the opposition coalition that he helped to build. On January 28, he submitted his resignation as Chief Minister of India.


In the 243-member Bihar Assembly, the JD(U) has 45 MLAs, BJP has 79, and Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) has 4. 128 MLAs support the NDA, with 122 MLAs in the majority.
