"If you injure an American...," says Joe Biden in the midst of US bombings in Syria and Iraq after the deaths of three troops in Jordan

In retaliation for the drone assault on Tower 22, which claimed the lives of three US troops, the US military conducted attacks against militias in Iraq and Syria that were supported by Iran.

Terrorists "will retaliate" if they "harm an American," US President Joe Biden has warned. This comes amid a string of incidents that include the drone attack on Tower 22, which claimed the lives of US soldiers, attacks by Houthi militants in the Red Sea, and a series of Middle East militia attacks that culminated in one. outcome of Israel's Gaza bombing assault.

"We got started on our reaction today. US President Joe Biden issued a warning, saying, "To those who seek to harm us, know this: If you damage an American, we will respond." He said that "it will continue at times and places of our choosing." American President Joe Biden and other prominent figures have restated that the US would respond in phases rather than all at once, implementing a "tiered response" across time.

On Saturday, there were rumors that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and militias with support from Iran were using scores of locations in Syria and Iraq as targets for bombings by the US military. The attack is believed to be a component of the US's "tiered response," which was instituted in reaction to the death of three US troops last weekend in a drone strike in Jordan.

The US conducted extensive attacks that struck over 85 targets in at least seven different locations, including intelligence and command centers, missile and rocket launchpads, drones, ammo storage facilities, and other infrastructure used by militias. It was connected to the Guard's expeditionary Quds force, which manages weaponry and connections with Tehran's surrounding militias.

Furthermore, it was said in a statement by President Joe Biden that more is on the way.

Notably, Iran's hardline President Ebrahim Raisi reaffirmed prior assurances on Friday morning that Tehran would take punitive action in response to any US assault that targets its interests. "We will not start a war, but if any country, if any harsh power wants to threaten us, the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond fervently," Raisi said.

As of January 30, 166 assaults against US military installations—67 in Iraq, 98 in Syria, and one in Jordan—had been carried out by militia groups supported by Iran, according to a US military officer. These attacks had occurred since October 18. The final attempt, which didn't result in any casualties or damage, was on January 29 on the al-Asad airfield in Iraq.
