Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal harshly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday, only a few days after becoming victorious in the contentious Chandigarh mayor's race.
During the Aam Aadmi Party's protest over claimed fraud in the mayor elections, Kejriwal remarked, "If BJP can rig Chandigarh mayor elections, imagine what it can do in assembly, Lok Sabha elections."

Chandigarh's mayoral election was clouded in controversy when the presiding officer ruled that eight votes cast by AAP and Congress councilors were void; as a consequence, BJP candidate Manoj Sonkar prevailed.
In contrast to Kuldeep Kumar of the AAP's 12 votes, the victorious candidate received 16 votes; eight ballots were deemed ineligible. As allies in the India Bloc, the AAP and Congress had run in the elections. Anil Masih, the presiding officer, was accused by the alliance of manipulating the voting papers as they were being counted.
