In 2019, Mr. Kamath posted a video of the joke on his social media accounts as well.

When talking about the platform's love for content, Nitin Kamath, the creator of Zerodha, related a joke he played that almost had everyone in the office cry. Mr. Kamath recounted the event in which he falsely accused Zerodha founders Nitin and Nikhil of fraud during a fictitious police raid on their workplace.

Varun Maiya, the CEO and founder of Avalon Labs, moderated a "One Plus Conversation" during which Mr. Kamath discussed the event. He said, "I pulled a practical joke at work. These Kannada actors, I urged them to invade our workplace as cops. We got the whole thing on camera. That's when I realized this was the right spot. I was thinking these odd things. Who would have imagined that a stock broker claiming, "Your founder is a fraud and has gone away," would play a humorous video of a police raid? I mean, it was a really bizarre response in the video. I mean, that day, half of our workplace was in tears.

Fake police officers are seen in the video questioning Zerodha staff members, "Where is Nitin?"

When the fictitious police officers arrived with the High Court order, they demanded that the workers halt. Few staff members seem to be inquiring about the actors' knowledge of the raid. Many workers seem anxious. Nitin and Nikhil Kamath enter after some time and disclose the hoax.

An employee said, "It feels good to sit back and laugh at this now," in response to the footage. When it was occurring, I wasn't laughing."

After being uploaded on YouTube, the video has received 1.8 million views.
