Ashok Tanwar, a former Haryana MP, has left the Aam Aadmi Party. On Saturday, he will join the BJP. Tanwar has also held positions in Trinamool Congress and Congress before.


A major defeat for the Aam Aadmi Party occurred before to the Lok Sabha elections. Ashok Tanwar, the head of the AAP in Haryana, has left the organisation. On Saturday, Tanwar will join the BJP. He's going to the BJP headquarters to join the saffron party. In addition, Ashok Tanwar served in Congress until leaving the party before of the 2019 elections. He served as the Haryana Congress's president. Following this, in November 2021, he became a member of the Trinamool Congress, then in April 2022, he joined the Aam Aadmi Party.


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, Ashok Tanwar, have received a letter. He said in it that his morals forbade him from continuing as the chairman of the Election Campaign Committee given the state of politics at the time and the Aam Aadmi Party's relationship with Congress. Thus, kindly accept my resignation from the Aam Aadmi Party's main membership and any other obligations.


He continued by saying that, as a responsible citizen of this nation and a longtime participant in politics, he has always placed the Constitution, the nation, and the people first. "I will continue to work for the betterment of Haryana, our beloved country India and its people," he said. In order to counter the BJP, the India Alliance was founded, and the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are members of this alliance. Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party also made the decision to run together for Chandigarh mayor at the same time. Congress was running for senior deputy mayor, while the AAP was running for mayor.


Ashok Tanwar, a candidate for the Congress, beat Sita Ram, an INLD candidate, for the Sirsa seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of more than 35,000 votes. With almost a lakh votes, INLD candidate Charanjit Singh Rory defeated Tanwar in the subsequent 2014 general elections. Following this, BJP candidate Sunita Duggal beat Ashok Tanwar from the Sirsa seat by more than three lakh votes in the most recent Lok Sabha elections of 2019.
