According to Chandrashekhar, the IT Ministry has made it plain to the platforms that they are not allowed to promote fraudulent lending applications as they deceive and take advantage of internet users.

On Wednesday, Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that social media and internet platforms have received instructions from the government to make sure that they do not display adverts for phony loan applications.

According to Chandrashekhar, the IT Ministry has made it plain to the platforms that they are not allowed to promote fraudulent lending applications as they deceive and take advantage of internet users.

"We have made it plain via yesterday's warning that no intermediary may market fake loan applications, and one of the areas we are currently clamping down on is the promotion of fraudulent loan apps that are functioning on several platforms. The State Minister for Electronics and IT said, "I can't give because it would be misleading and exploit people who use the internet," outside of an event.

He said that the IT regulations expressly list 11 categories of information that are forbidden and that the government's perspective and legal precedent about a safe and dependable internet are changing.
