What the Chief Minister said: Mamata Banerjee said that her administration will need to spend an extra Rs 2,400 crore in order to implement the DA hike. "For us, DA is optional rather than mandatory," he said. We are raising DA by 4% while keeping in mind the wellbeing of the workers.
