Roads and the Sutton train station are blocked after a knife death

Following the death of a 17-year-old boy from a stabbing on Sutton High Street, a section of south London has been blocked off.

After the incident at 19:08 GMT, the Met Police reported that Sutton train station is closed and that several other roads in the vicinity are also blocked.

According to a force spokesman, no arrests had been made and investigations to find the teen's relatives were still underway.

"An urgent investigation is underway," a spokeswoman said.

Warning of disruption

He said that while the London Ambulance Service attended to the adolescent on the spot, he passed away from his wounds.

The train station is closed till additional information is obtained, according to statements made on Twitter (previously Twitter) by Southern and Thameslink.

Trains are now unable to call at the station, according to a Southern website statement, and the company predicted that the disruption would last until the end of the day.

It was recommended to customers to verify travel information and use other routes before departing.
