Modi will launch the second iteration of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam at Namo Ghat in the evening on the first day of his visit to Varanasi.


On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. During his stay, he will unveil and lay the foundation for 37 projects costing over Rs 19,000 crore that would contribute to the development of the Purvanchal area and Varanasi.


After being received by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel, who arrived here on Sunday afternoon, Modi will spend around twenty-five hours in Varanasi, according to an official statement released here.


Modi will launch the second iteration of Kashi Tamil Sangamam at Namo Ghat in the evening on the first day of his visit to Varanasi.


He will launch the Kashi Tamil Sangam Express, which travels between Varanasi and Kanyakumari, in this event.


It said that 1,400 dignitaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would visit Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya as part of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, which is scheduled to take place from December 17–31.


On Sunday, the first set of Tamil delegates arrived in Varanasi. They were students from various Tamil Nadu regions who went by the moniker "Ganga." Kashi Vishwanath Temple was visited by the delegation. He will also make trips to Ayodhya and Prayagraj while he is there.


To take part in the festival, six other groups will go to Varanasi: authors (Indus), farmers and craftsmen (Narmada), professionals (Godavari), teachers (Yamuna), dealers and businesspeople (Kaveri), and spiritual people (Saraswati).


In addition to cultural interaction, there will be an exhibition highlighting the diverse range of artwork, music, handlooms, handicrafts, food, and other unique goods from Kashi and Tamil Nadu.


It said that in addition to cultural events, the program would include the distinctive customs of Tamil Nadu and Kashi, with the goal of fostering closer relationships between the inhabitants of these two areas.


The Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Railways, Textiles, Food Processing, MSME, Information & Broadcasting, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, IRCTC, and line departments of the Government of Uttar Pradesh are participating in the event, with the Union Ministry of Education serving as the nodal agency.


Lectures on literature, ancient texts, philosophy, spirituality, music, dance, theater, yoga, and Ayurveda will all be covered during the Kasi Tamil Sangamam. There are also seminars scheduled on "Innovation, Business, Knowledge Exchange, Education Technology, and Next Generation Technology".


Modi is scheduled to take part in the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra event at the Sewapuri development block's Badki Gram Sabha on Monday.


According to the announcement, he would also use this location to officially launch and lay the groundwork for 37 projects totaling Rs 19,155 crore for Varanasi and Purvanchal.


Projects pertaining to police welfare, smart cities and urban development, railroads, airports, health and education, and roads and bridges are included in this.


The Prime Minister will also unveil the approximately Rs 10,000 crore dedicated freight corridor project that connects New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to New Bhaupur.


The four-lane Lahartara-Phulwaria-Shivpur road, which cost Rs 166 crore to build, will be officially opened by Modi. He may also go to the Kaal Bhairav Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Dham and worship there.
