Trains in the Winter: The East Central Railway has taken extra precautions to ensure that trains operate on schedule during the winter's thick fog.

Trains in the Winter: Train delays begin as soon as winter sets in. Train delays might vary from a few minutes to many hours as a result of heavy fog and inclement weather. Passengers have a great deal of difficulties in this scenario. Nonetheless, Railways is always striving to avoid these issues that travelers encounter in the winter. According to East Central Railway, the loco pilot finds it difficult to steer the train through thick fog in the winter. In order to ensure that trains operate on schedule, Railways has chosen to install fog protective systems in every engine.

fitted a fog-safe device for the loco pilot

According to East Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Birendra Kumar, every engine has a fog-safe system fitted. A fog-safe device has been provided for loco pilots of 100% of East Central Railway's mail, express, and passenger trains in order to ensure smooth train operation. A GPS-based gadget called the Fog Safe Device alerts the loco pilot of the impending signal. which the loco pilot uses to regulate the train's speed.

There will be fog guys deployed.

In addition, he added, fog guys are being sent out to keep an eye on the railroad line's signal condition in the event of fog. Under the direction of top authorities, railway staff continuously monitor the tracks to detect and prevent rail fractures early on. Linemen and Patrolmen have access to GPS trackers, which guarantee their personal safety and allow them to transmit information instantly in the event of an emergency.

These preparations were done in anticipation of winter.

Signal sighting boards, fog signal posts, and lifting barriers at busy level crossings have also been painted a brighter color to improve signal visibility. According to Kumar, in the event of fog, loco pilots and station masters need to notify the control room right away. Next, use the Visibility Test Object (VTO) to verify visibility.
