In the medium run, oil and gasoline shouldn't be demonized," claims Elon Musk

Elon Musk emphasized the necessity to reduce carbon emissions in order to safeguard the environment, even if he does not think that the value of oil and gasoline should decrease over the medium term.

The inventor of Tesla, Elon Musk, has said that demonetizing oil and gasoline is not a good idea in the long run. However, he has also emphasized the importance of reducing carbon emissions in order to save the environment.

Speaking at a right-wing political gathering hosted by the Brothers of Italy party, which is led by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, was Musk.

During the event, he said, "Warnings about short-term climate change have been exaggerated," adding that the environmental movement had gone too far and that people were beginning to lose hope for the future.

In order to avert the worst-case scenario of climate change, officials from over 200 nations came to an agreement at this month's COP28 climate conference to start cutting global fossil fuel usage, thus ending the oil era.

Musk said that he views himself as an environmentalist and thinks it is critical that businesses eventually cut down on the billions of tons of carbon that they absorb from the planet and emit into the atmosphere via the combustion of fossil fuels.

"We should not denigrate oil and gas in the medium term," he said.

Musk expressed worry about Italy's dropping birth rate when asked whether his firms will invest there.

"I want to be clear that although I believe Italy is a terrific area to invest, I am worried about the low birth rate. If the labor force shrinks, who will work in the nation?" He stated.

Additionally, he urged the Italian government to provide financial incentives to families so they would be more likely to have children, arguing that no nation can depend entirely on immigration to make up for shortages.

Italy's budget for the next year includes a roughly $1 billion ($1.09 billion) allocation to address the demographic issue in the nation. Italy's birth rate dropped last year for the fourteenth year in a row, to its lowest level since the unification of the nation in 1861. Regarding the social networking platform X, Musk played off worries about a drop in advertising revenue. According to him, marketers are "already seeing return" on the site.
