Elections for the Lok Sabha in 2024: How are seats allocated in India Block? Congress has scheduled a December 6 opposition meeting

The Congress, headed by Mallikarjun Kharge, has scheduled a conference of the India Bloc, the opposition party, for December 6 in Delhi.

The Congress, chaired by Mallikarjun Kharge, has scheduled a conference of the opposition India Bloc for December 6 in Delhi, the nation's capital. On December 6, Kharge summoned his coalition partners to a meeting in Delhi, according to news agency ANI.

Will members of the India Bloc be discussing seat sharing at this meeting?

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said on October 25 that seat sharing for the India Block will probably be revealed after the elections in five states. Regarding seat sharing within the India Alliance, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We will observe it." Let the five states' elections take place first."

The action is being taken on the same day that India will be monitoring the outcomes of four crucial assembly elections: Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.

The Congress is targeting Madhya Pradesh and Telangana in an attempt to hold onto power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh after seizing Karnataka from the BJP in May. The party's standing in the opposition India Bloc, which was established to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, would be enhanced with a strong showing in these elections.

In order to debate the seat distribution mechanism for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the India Bloc scheduled a conference in September. Reportedly, the method for seat-sharing would take into account the parties' past electoral results as well as the power of the biggest party in each state that belongs to the group. Regarding seat-sharing, the block hasn't yet released any announcements.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar and leader of the Janata Dal (United), had earlier in November accused the Mallikarjun Kharge-led Congress of undermining the opposition Indian group in front of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Chief Minister of Bihar said that the India Bloc has been temporarily shelved since the Congress is "busy with elections in five states."

In Patna, Nitish Kumar has arranged the first India Block Meet. The JD(U), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Trinamool Congress (TMC), Congress, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) are among the 28 parties that make up the India block.

There were also rumors of developing hostility between the Samajwadi Party of Akhilesh Yadav and the Congress, the party of the India Bloc. The ongoing struggle between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party is indicative of the rising antagonism among the member parties of the India Bloc.

Omar Abdullah, the head of the National Conference, had said in October that things were not going well inside the Indian opposition camp.
