Hussain said that he had previously criticized "Bihar DNA," perhaps in response to a remark made by Congressman and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, but the opposition parties said nothing.

"Laborers from Bihar go to Tamil Nadu for work because of the conditions created by their (DMK) ally Nitish Kumar in Bihar," Prasad said.

In response to DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran's reported disparaging statements against workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the BJP on Sunday attacked the India Bloc, claiming that voters in Hindi-speaking regions would give the opposition coalition a lesson in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP reacted when a video tape purportedly showing Maran making a disparaging remark months before went viral on social media.

According to reports in the video, Maran said that after learning Tamil, persons who had studied "only Hindi" in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar went on to construct homes, maintain roads, and install toilets in Tamil Nadu. "Same is the situation if Hindi is learned." Senior BJP politician and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad responded angrily to Maran's comments, saying, "He should stop insulting (the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh) like this."

"Laborers from Bihar go to Tamil Nadu for work because of the conditions created by their (DMK) ally Nitish Kumar in Bihar," Prasad said. But would you treat someone disrespectfully if they put in a lot of work?"Will you do it?" The MP for Patna Sahib said that the DMK politicians were attempting to sow discord across the nation by making "objectionable comments against Sanatan, values and culture of Bihar and now Labour". "There is only one India, and anyone can work anywhere," he said.

Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, the national spokesman for the BJP and a former Union minister, called Maran's comments "completely objectionable" and questioned why the leaders of the India Bloc parties denigrate the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. This is absolutely inappropriate. It need to be vehemently denounced, the BJP leader said. "Why do the leaders of the Indian alliance treat the people of Bihar-UP with such contempt and insult?" he inquired. Why are the JDU folks quiet on this? -U, RJD, and Congress

Hussain said that he had previously criticized "Bihar DNA," perhaps in response to a remark made by Congressman and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, but the opposition parties said nothing. He said, "The people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will give a befitting reply to the people of the Indian alliance and teach them a lesson." Such offensive remarks being made "continuously" by top DMK politicians, according to BJP national spokesman Shehzad Poonawalla, indicates that they are "acceptable to the Bharat alliance and is part of their (poll) strategy".

This is a purposeful experiment, not an accident. Congress is in favor of this as well. According to Poonawalla, "Congress, which does its politics from North India, especially Uttar Pradesh, is today bent on misusing these states." "This is the reality of the INDI alliance," said the BJP leader. This was the goal of Minister Nityanand Rai. DMK referred to Maran's remark as their "appeasement policy" in order to win votes. "You are demeaning our brothers and sisters who are participating in the cleanliness drive, whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi has honored."This is an appeasement strategy...Rai told reporters, "You (DMK leader) will have to apologize to the country for this."

He also issued a challenge to every other member of the Indian opposition party to reject and denounce Maran's remarks on the Hindi-speaking populace of North India. "Dayanidhi Maran needs to hear this: North and South India cannot be divided under the India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under Prime Minister Modi's direction, "One India, Shreshtha Bharat" is being constructed. In our nation, those who maintain clean roads and restrooms are equally deserving of respect, Rai said.
