A 50% fee is applied to tickets canceled less than 12 hours, 4 hours before to the planned departure time, and until the chart is prepared.
What policies apply to ticket cancellations after chart preparation?
IRCTC regulations state that after the chart is generated, it is not possible to cancel the confirmed ticket. You won't get your money back if you do this.
You may, however, submit a TDR. But there are additional guidelines specific to submitting TDRs that you should be aware of.
Guidelines for canceling a reserved seat
You do not need to cancel a ticket that you purchased online if it hasn't been confirmed. Regardless of the class you purchased the ticket for, your ticket will be immediately canceled and the whole price will be reimbursed after subtracting Rs. 60 and GST.
