 TERI and NIDM establish an agreement to collaborate on catastrophe risk reduction


Under the Disaster Management Act of 2005, NIDM is responsible for policy advocacy, research, documentation, training, capacity building, human resource development, and documentation in the area of disaster management.


The alliance, according to NIDM Executive Director Rajendra Ratnu, "symbolizes our joint commitment to contribute to the national agenda of disaster risk reduction," highlighting the significance of teamwork in creating a safe and resilient India.

The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and TERI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote innovation and information exchange with the goal of establishing a resilient and safe national culture.


An official statement claims that the agreement's signing on Friday is a component of the prime minister's 10-point plan, which calls on universities to become involved in capacity development, training, and awareness-raising related to disaster management.


The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is one of the roughly 260 colleges and institutions that fall under the umbrella of NIDM.


According to the statement, the network wants to foster innovation, knowledge, and education in catastrophe risk reduction in order to foster a resilient and safe national culture.


"This historic agreement represents a turning point in the development of sustainable practices and catastrophe management solutions. The partnership between TERI and NIDM seeks to enable both organizations to take on the important issues raised by hazards associated with climate change and natural catastrophes. to make use of resources and knowledge."
