 TEC and IIIT Delhi reach agreement to work together on reliable, ethical AI

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the technical arm of the Government of India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT), along with the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology in New Delhi (IIITD) to focus on addressing biases in AI systems and advancing fairness assessments while nurturing public trust in these advancements, in line with the government's targets according to the statement.

An official announcement on November 3 noted that the state-run telecom technology agency TEC and the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, have partnered to promote innovation in the area of reliable and responsible artificial intelligence systems. A Declaration of Understanding was signed by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), along with the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIITD) to focus on dealing with biases in AI systems as well as fostering fairness assessments while nurturing confidence in the public in these technologies, in line with the government targets according to the statement.

"TEC and IIITD have partnered to promote innovation in the field of reliable and accountable AI systems. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on November 3, 2023, "highlighting their commitment to pioneering improvements in Responsible AI," the release said.
