PM Modi announces a project of Rs. 24,000 crore to support the development of marginalized tribes

On the occasion of Birsa Munda's birth anniversary and the third Tribal Pride Day, PM Modi announced this mission over the grounds of Birsa College in the Khunti district of Jharkhand.

The Rs 24,000 crore Prime Minister Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PM PVTG) Mission was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday with the goal of providing a comprehensive development for about 28 lakh PVTGs throughout the nation.

On the occasion of the third Tribal Pride Day and the birth anniversary of tribal legend Birsa Munda, Modi began this initiative from the grounds of Birsa College in the Khunti district of Jharkhand.

According to the official statement, the Mission will provide PVTG settlements with basic amenities like electricity, clean drinking water and sanitation, safe housing, better access to education, health, along with nutrition, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. These amenities are currently mostly remote, dispersed, and unreachable.

In addition, Modi distributed Rs 18,000 crore to nearly eight crore farmers nationwide who were eligible for the 15th payment of the PM Kisan Yojana. In honor of the third Tribal Pride Day, the Prime Minister clicked this button to digitally transmit the money.

One of the biggest direct benefit transfer (DBT) programs in the world, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) assists farmers in meeting their agricultural and other dependent requirements.

The plan provides the eligible farmers with an annual cash aid of Rs 6,000, which is sent to them in three equal payments via DBT.
