This is Shah's first trip to Bihar since the state's release on October 2 of the results of the caste-based survey carried out by the Nitish Kumar administration.

On November 5, Home Minister Amit Shah will speak at a massive gathering in the Muzaffarpur region of Bihar.


The Home Minister will be welcomed by Bihar BJP President Samrat Choudhary and other prominent party figures at Patna's Jay Prakash Narayan International Terminal in the afternoon.


Shah will take a helicopter from the airport to Patahi, the Muzaffarpur rally site. This is Shah's first trip to Bihar since the state's release on October 2 of the results of the caste-based survey carried out by the Nitish Kumar administration.


According to the poll, over 60% of the state's population is made up of OBCs and EBCs, who are mostly supporters of JD(U) and its partner RJD. The poll, the accuracy of which has been questioned by the BJP, put the number of powerful upper castes at around 10 percent.


Currently, Ajay Nishad of the BJP holds the Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha seat. Except for Kishanganj, which the Congress came out on top, the BJP-led NDA had won 39 of the total 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar in 2019.
