DDA launches an RFP and seeks for a consulting company for the demolition of Signature Views Apartments

The DDA officials have requested in the notice that a company with a minimum of 20 years' expertise in the use of high-reach demolition excavators, implosion, diamond-cutting, and other techniques for building destruction be hired.

The residents of Signature View Apartments had requested that the DDA modify the evacuation provision from 100% to 75% in order to allow those moving into temporary housing to begin collecting rent from the organization.

According to official records, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has opened an online bid request for the employment of a consultant company to handle the destruction of the multi-story Signature View Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar, northwest Delhi. On November 4, officials announced that the DDA has released an RFP and an e-tender notice for this purpose.

Built between 2007 and 2009, the complex has 336 apartments, comprising both HIG and MIG. But soon after, construction-related problems with the apartments developed, prompting the occupants to file complaints with the DDA.

According to a 2021–2022 IIT–Delhi assessment ordered by the DDA, the structure is structurally unstable.

"Proposals are being urged from eligible applicants through e-tender (online bid acceptance) for 'hiring of a consultant for destruction of a multi-storeyed complex, submission) specifically Signature View Apartment currently Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, and removal &recycling of Construction and Development waste'," according to the e-tender notice.

The DDA officials requested in the notice that a company with at least 20 years of expertise demolishing buildings using techniques like as diamond-cutting, implosion, and high-reach demolition excavators be hired.

The consultant will be engaged for "a period of six months (one month prior to demolition and five months during demolition and disposal/recycling of waste), which may be extended by the DDA as may be required," according to the RFP document. The DDA may terminate a consultant's engagement by providing notification that the engagement will end in at least thirty days.

"A pre-bid meeting to eliminate the doubt of potential bidders about the proposal documents will be convened on November 6 at Vikas Minar in the ITO area here," stated the authorities.

In order for those moving into temporary housing to begin collecting rent from the DDA, residents of Signature View Apartments had requested in October that the agency modify the evacuation provision from 100% to 75%.
