News from Tamil Nadu: IMD forecasts heavy rains till November 8; continuous rain creates major waterlogging

News from Tamil Nadu: Up till November 10, the majority of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions are expected to get mild to moderate rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Up till November 8, the meteorological service has also forecast sporadic, heavy rain in a number of Tamil Nadu districts.

Heavy rains have been falling on the state, causing waterlogging. Numerous roadways in the Karur district experienced waterlogging as a result of heavy rainfall that hit numerous areas. Pasupathipalayam and Tadavalaga were among the other regions impacted, as commuters faced difficulties due to waterlogging on the key roadways.

Following the nonstop rains, rainwater in Karur mixed with sewage water in a few locations. News agency ANI was also informed by sources that the Karur municipal administration was asked by the villagers to remove the standing water from the region.

The meteorological service issued a heavy rainfall advisory for ten districts, including Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Vellore, earlier on Saturday. Nine districts of Chennai, including Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi, Theni, Madhurai, Tirunelveli, Dindukkal, Sivagangai, and Nellai, also closed their schools on Saturday.
