Mukesh Ambani receives two additional threat emails from the same person demanding a ransom of Rs 400 crore

On October 27, the first threatening email was received. Its sender threatened to assassinate Mukesh Ambani if he did not give in to his demands for Rs 20 crore.

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL), continued to receive threat emails; two more arrived on October 31 and November 1 and reiterated the demand for Rs 400 crore in ransom, along with a warning of dire repercussions.

"Industrialist Mukesh Ambani picked up two threat emails once again around October 31 and November 1, warning him of serious penalties for ignoring previous emails in which the person (sender of the mail) had requested Rs 400 crore," ANI said, quoting police in Mumbai.

It is believed that the sender of the email threatening Ambani is the same person who threatened Ambani in three previous emails at various times.

After a suspected hacker threatened to assassinate Ambani via email late last month, the Mumbai police have opened an extortion and criminal intimidation investigation. To find out where the email originated and who sent it, an investigation has been launched.

A third email threatening Ambani's life was sent on October 30. The sender, who remained anonymous, wanted a ransom of Rs 400 crore. This was the third threat email addressed to Ambani in four days, according to a police officer, and it was received by his firm.

On October 27, Ambani got an email threatening his life, threatening to shoot him if he did not provide the required payment of Rs 20 crore. "Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani received life threat on email on October 27, demanding to shoot him if he failed to pay Rs 20 crore," according to ANI.

The Mumbai Police quoted the email as saying, "If you don't give us 20 crore rupees, and we will kill you, we have the best gunmen in India."

At Mumbai's Gamdevi police station, a case was filed for criminal intimidation (Section 506-2 of IPC) and attempt to extort by threatening death or great harm (Section 387 of the IPC).

Calls threatening to harm Ambani and his family were made to a Reliance Foundation-run hospital last year.

Rakesh Kumar Mishra, 30, of Darbhanga, Bihar, was taken into custody by the Mumbai Police for reportedly making threatening phone calls to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. He made threats against Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, and their kids Akash and Anant, as well as blow up the hospital, during these conversations. In addition, the caller threatened to blow up Antilia, the South Mumbai home of the Ambani family.
