A huge relief for the elderly! The Central Government wants to provide pensioners—especially the elderly, ill, and disabled—who live in rural regions of the nation access to the advantages of digital life certificate submission procedures.

For retirees of the central government, there is good news. In actuality, the national government has launched a campaign in 100 cities and 500 places. The government released a statement stating that this campaign, which began on November 1 and will run through November 30, is aimed at 50 lakh pensioners and is being carried out in partnership with 17 pension disbursing banks, ministries/departments, pensioners' welfare associations, the Ministry of Electronics as well as Information Technology, and UIDAI.

What is the objective?

The Central Government wants to provide pensioners—especially the elderly, ill, and disabled—who live in rural regions of the nation access to the advantages of digital life certificate submission procedures. Employees assigned to bank branches are given Android phones so that they may utilize this technology when retirees visit the branch to turn in their life certificates. This is being done in locations where doorstep banking services are offered. ..In addition, bank workers can be required to go to the residences of very sick retirees who are unable of getting out of bed in order to turn in their Digital Life Certificate (DLC). In addition, camps must to be set up so that retirees may promptly turn in their DLC.

Let us inform you that the government implemented a biometric device-based DLC deposit system in 2014. The development of a face authentication technology system based on the Aadhaar database followed, enabling the submission of a life certificate using any Android-based smartphone. This facility claims that a person's identification is confirmed by facial authentication technology, which also generates a Digital Life Certificate (DLC).

We would like to inform you that this technology was introduced in November 2021 and has helped retirees become less reliant on external biometric devices. Currently, the procedure is more inexpensive and accessible because to the utilization of smartphone-based technologies.
