The iOS 17.1 issued by Apple for iPhones: These three issues are being reported by users; are you experiencing any of them?

Earlier morning, Apple published iOS 17.1, the most recent software update for iPhones. There are several software upgrades and bug fixes in the updates. But as with every upgrade, early users have begun to draw attention to certain problems.

Is the iOS 17.1 update coming to your iPhone? You will get this most recent update if your iPhone is an iPhone XR or later, including an iPhone SE (Second Generation).

Let's discuss the most significant changes in iOS 17.1 for iPhones.

4 Significant improvements in iOS 17.1: Firstly, Apple has fixed the wireless frequency problem with the iPhone 12. France highlighted the iPhone 12 on September 12, 2023, claiming the device's hazardous radiation. With this most recent software update, Apple seems to have resolved that problem.

New StandBy mode options are the second. This iOS 17.1 update has added extra functionality to the StandBy mode. Standby mode may now be turned off automatically, after 20 seconds, or never. Only iPhones with an always-on display may use this feature.

Additionally, Apple Music has been improved. With only a button push, consumers can now easily discover their favorite music thanks to a new feature that Apple has included. To make it simpler to find and listen to, users may also add their favorite songs to this list.

Fourth, Airdrop is now compatible with mobile data. The two iPhone users will utilize their respective networks' cellular data to finish the data transfer if they leave Airdrop range after starting it. In the past, if users left the range before the transfer was finished, the data transmission would cease.

How can you upgrade to iOS 17.1 on your iPhone? Simply choose General from the Settings menu, then click Software Update.

When attempting to upgrade your iPhone to iOS 17.1, keep in mind that you need to have your phone plugged in to a charger if your battery is less than 20%.

New Bugs in iOS 17.1

Now for the problems. Shaizeik, a Reddit user, noted that the Apple Music app widget's spacing is "messed up."

"It really bothers me that the Apple Music widget does not have enough padding around it," the person said.

Following an update to iOS 17.1, Glassy Hanni, another Reddit member, reported experiencing screen flickering. They said, "I've observed that the animation finishes with a flickering effect on the left side of my screen when I move back to the previous app from the top left corner after opening an app notification. I'm not sure whether this problem existed before since I just took over this phone and it was already running iOS 17.

"It seems like it might be a transition animation problem," they said, adding that it was also seen while screen recording. I checked a another iPhone 14 and an iPhone 15 Pro, and neither device had this problem. Observed that the iPhone 12 Pro's transition animation seems much slower than that of the iPhone 14 and 15 Pro when returning to the prior app. I don't believe my battery is the problem since it is at 86% health and there aren't any other sluggish moments."

After upgrading to iOS 17.1, a third Reddit user, JCP42877, has reported having trouble with their carplay. I upgraded to iOS 17.1 today, and I noticed that my CarPlay volume is now quieter. Is this anything else?

The customer said that while they generally had their car's volume between 17 and 18, listening to music at this level seemed very low today after the iOS 17.1 upgrade. "All of my car's audio settings are still the same," they said, "and I can't think of anything else that would randomly cause this outside from I upgraded iOS today."
