 PM Modi will open the National Games in Goa, 2023 today. Here's all you need to know, including the schedule, location, and livestream


On October 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally open the 37th National Games at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, South Goa. According to daijiworld, those in attendance would include Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Sports Govind Gaude, and Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik.


The 37th National Games, which will be held in Goa for the first time, will have competitors from 28 states competing in more than 43 sports. More than 10,000 athletes from all throughout the nation will compete in these games, with 49% of them being female.


Timetable

Goa will host the 37th National Games of India, which are slated to take place from October 26 to November 9.


Place

The festival will take place at 28 locations in the five Goan cities of Mapusa, Margao, Panjim, Ponda, and Vasco. Goa is hosting the National Games for the first time. There will be cycling and golf competitions in New Delhi.


Activity

Several sports, including beach football, roll ball, golf, sepak takraw, sqay martial arts, kalliya rapattu, and pencak silat, will be making their medal debuts in the 37th National Games of India. A number of sports, including mallakhamb, yogasana, and kho, will compete in their first-ever National Games.


Games including sailing and taekwondo, which were not included in the previous edition, will be back this year. Additionally, demonstration sports like gatka and lagori have been a part of the event. Gymnastics, rowing, hockey, boxing, shooting, water polo, lawn tennis, snooker, handball, judo, table tennis, and many more sports will be included in the games.


Tickets To attend the different events, tickets are not required. Any valid identification provided by the government is accepted for entry into the venues.


Slogan

"Get Set Goa," the slogan of the 37th National Games of India, is reminiscent of the tagline from the 1924 inaugural National Games of India, "Get Set Play."


For streaming, where?

The Prasar Bharati YouTube channel is offering LIVE streaming of the 37th National Games. First Post said that it would air every day on the DD Sports TV channel.
