Putin said that going to war with Russia is "nonsense" and that fighting with the US would be "completely different."

Thoughts of conflict between Russia and the US were harmful, but Vladimir Putin claims that if they were made public, Moscow would be concerned.

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned a war between the United States and Russia would be quite different from the conflict in Ukraine.

His remarks follow a panel that the US Congress formed on Thursday saying that America must be ready for potential simultaneous battles with China and Russia.

The group recommended that the US improve its alliances, increase its nuclear weapons modernization program, and increase its conventional troops.

Thoughts of conflict between Russia and the US were unhealthy, but if they were made public, Moscow would be concerned, Putin reportedly told Kremlin reporter Pavel Zarubin, according to a story by Reuters.

According to Putin, "I don't think these are healthy thoughts in the minds of healthy people, because to say that the United States is preparing for war with Russia, well, we are all preparing for war because we follow the ancient principle: if you want peace, get ready for war," he said in a video clip shared on Telegram.

He laughed and said, "But we want peace. Furthermore, I don't believe it's serious to battle with both Russia and China at the same time. I believe they are only frightening one another.

And if they choose to fight with Russia, Putin said, "it will be a totally different war; there won't be any special military operations." Can you compare them? Take a look at the Middle East. Is it a particular military operation?

"It would be a very different thing if we were talking about a nuclear war between major nations. I don't believe that anybody with a rational mind would consider such a thing, but if they did, it would only serve to make us careful.

The US-built "AUKUS," an alliance of the US, Australia, and the UK for security, according to the Russian President, has fueled tensions with China.

The United States claims that both China and Russia are modernizing their nuclear arsenals.

If China keeps up its present rate of nuclear construction, it might have 1,500 nuclear weapons in its arsenal by 2035.

As of 2023, the US and Russia each have 5,244 nuclear weapons, according to the Federation of American Scientists.
