During the holy Jewish festival of Simchat Torah, Hamas launched the largest attack on Israel in years on Saturday. The surprise attack included terrorists crossing the border and a hefty volley of missiles fired from the Gaza Strip.

Israel launched "Operation Iron Swords" in retaliation to Gaza's assault, sending its fighter jets to the Gaza Strip to carry out airstrikes on Hamas targets.

Following the rocket incident, India also sent out a warning to its citizens living in Israel, advising them to exercise caution and follow safety procedures.

All Indian citizens living in Israel are urged to exercise caution and follow all safety precautions recommended by local authorities in light of the country's present security situation. The alert advised people to be cautious, refrain from needless activity, and remain near safety shelters.

In his opening statement after Hamas launched an unprecedented strike against Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "We are at war."

First remarks made by Netanyahu since the rulers of the Gaza Strip's Hamas launched a significant, multi-front offensive on Israel before dawn on Saturday.

He demanded that reserve personnel be called up and declared that Hamas will "pay a price that it hasn't known until now." "We are at war," declared Netanyahu. "At war," not "an operation," "a round,"

The military has also been instructed by the prime minister to purge the infiltrated communities of any remaining Hamas fighters engaged in gun battles with Israeli soldiers.
