The health system in India has frequently come under scrutiny, sometimes by the media and other times by users of social media. According to NDTV on October 7, the most recent, appalling situation at Chhattisgarh's Abhanpur Community Health Centre has gone viral.

People are expressing concern over a video and picture showing a little child holding a saline bottle while standing near to a patient at Abhanpur Hospital. There isn't a stand to hang the saline bottle; forget about a wheelchair or stretcher for the sufferer to sit on. The image has gained a lot of online popularity.

Here is the trending video:

Details indicate that the hospital is only 25 kilometers from Raipur, the state capital, and that the patient is Budhiya Bai, whose 8-year-old grandson can be seen holding the saline bottle in hand after being instructed to do so by authorities.

According to NDTV, the facility was in considerably worse shape when they visited. Even the hospital's patients in the ward are not provided with a pillow or bedsheet. Another issue that is brought up is the scarcity of potable water.

The hospital's medication distribution center is particularly broken, according to the report.

A week earlier, Outlook had reported that after a continuous power outage in the structure for five days, doctors at a government hospital in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district were forced to treat injured patients on 1 October using phone flashlights.

The administration, however, had asserted that the power outage was the result of a fire brought on by a short-circuit. When questioned about the resolution, MLA Rajman Benjamin stated that he had given the power department instructions to implement substitute measures.

These reports come as the state is now dealing with a 6,000 crore rupee online betting app scam and a 2,161 crore rupee liquor sale scam.
