A statement from the Mumbai traffic police outlines traffic patterns and parking options near the city's Wankhede Stadium, which will serve as the site of many ICC World Cup 2023 matches.


The police advised people to use the suburban trains to go to and from the event in a news release dated October 20. They also mentioned parking and traffic limitations in the area.


"Traffic measures have been made in anticipation of the cricket matches planned for the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the 2023 World Cup to prevent traffic congestion. Since there are no parking facilities at Wankhede Stadium, fans are kindly asked to take the local trains, the official account stated.




Games Are Scheduled

The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host cricket matches at the ICC World Cup in 2023. Since many people are anticipated to arrive in cars, this might cause traffic congestion in the neighborhood. For the following games, the parking and traffic restrictions will be in effect from 11 am to midnight:

"Since there is no parking available at Wankhede Stadium, spectators shall use the normal traffic arrangement - specially train/ local trains," said the press release.


Parking restrictions apply to C Road on the north side from where it meets NS Road until it meets E Road.

-- E Road from the D Road intersection to the C Road intersection.


From the intersection to the "Anuvrat" junction, take the E Cross Road.


From the intersection of NS Road and F Road to the intersection of H Road

-- Air India Junction to Mafatlal Bath Signal on the NS Road (South and North headed)

Changes to the traffic flow -- From its intersection with NS Road (Marine Drive) and in the direction of the intersection of E and C Road, D Road should be one way (from West to East) for vehicle traffic.


-- From its intersection with E Road until its intersection with NS Road (Marine Drive), C Road will only have one direction for vehicle traffic—from east to west.


From the intersection of D Road until the intersection of C Road, all vehicle traffic on E Road must go in a single direction (southbound).


-- Churchgate Station will be used to transport spectators utilizing Gates 01, 03, and 07


-- Those utilizing Gates 04 and 05A as spectators must utilize Marine Lines station and F Road to travel.

"Vehicles parked at places in addition to above will be issued E-challan and towed away," said the message.
