India's Mumbai, Maharashtra AAV Ranga Raju, MD of NCC Ltd., received the coveted Construction World Person of the Year (Private Sector) award, according to Business Wire India.

The "Equipment India Person of the Year 2023" award was given to Dimitrov Krishnan, MD of Volvo Construction Equipment India.

More than 200 industry leaders from the top construction and infrastructure companies gave the 9th Edition of India Construction Festival (2023), which included the 13th India Roads Conference, 11th Equipment India Awards, and 21st Construction World Global Awards, a strong thumbs up. They did this to celebrate the growth of the industry and recognize its contribution to the nation's building.



 

Over 70 firms in the infrastructure and construction equipment sectors were recognized at the recent India Construction Festival 2023, which was held at the Shangri La Hotel in New Delhi and was organized by infrastructure think tank FIRST Construction Group. While Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director of Volvo Construction Equipment India, received recognition as the "Equipment India Person of the Year 2023" for their outstanding accomplishments during 2022–2023, AAV Ranga Raju, Managing Director of NCC Ltd, received the prestigious Construction World Individuals of the Year (Private Sector) award.

 

Pratap Padode, founder and president of FIRST Construction Council, provided background information for ICF 2023 by stating that "government infrastructure spending as indicated by central government expenditure have gone over 8 times from FY14 to FY24. It is anticipated to increase from 1.7% of GDP in FY14 to 4.9% of GDP in FY24. Road capital has increased 7.5 times in that time, whereas railway capex has increased by 4.5 times. Making plans for future growth: India Roads Conference in 2023

With the theme "Road Construction Business: Establishing safe, sustainable, inclusive and intelligent road network in India," the 13th India Roads Conference (IRC) brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices, and funding opportunities that will revolutionize the road construction landscape in India.

 

The capital spending on the road sector has surged by about 5 times, from 512.04 billion in 2013–14 to 2.41 trillion in 2022–23, according to Pratap Padode, founder and president of FIRST Construction Council. National Highways will be 145,240 km long in March 2023 compared to 91,287 km in 2013–14, an increase of 59%. The government has set a goal for this year of building 13,800 km of roadways, which calls for sufficient funding and the appropriate tools. The India Roads Conference will go over sustainable ways to construct durable roads for great economic development.


The Ministry of Power permitted us to diversify into non-power infrastructure and logistics when we were designated a Maharatna firm in 2022, and we have been permitted to diversify up to one-third of our loan book into non-power sectors. We want to approve projects totaling between Rs. 1 and Rs. 1.25 lakh crore in these new sectors, which also include airports, highways, and metro rail projects.
