Guidelines for establishing campuses at foreign institutions in India will be published shortly
According to Minister of Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan, guidelines for international institutions setting up campuses in India would be announced shortly.
The education minister said, "We are going to make a paradigm shift," in an interview with PTI. Therefore, we shall proceed after considering all options and resolving all uncertainties. The UGC will inform them shortly, and the guidelines are now being considered.
Pradhan said that India is in negotiations with a number of other nations who have showed interest and that two IITs, including Delhi and Madras, are in various phases of building up their offshore campuses. He said that the initiative is being managed and coordinated by the Ministry of External Affairs, under the direction of Minister S. Jaishankar, with several choices and combinations being considered.
When the Education Minister was asked about the choice made by states like Karnataka and West Bengal to not follow the National Education Policy (NEP), he said that their concerns are political in nature rather than academic in nature.
I'm still unable to comprehend what their true problem is, he continued. West Bengal has issued a substitute document. We've seen it, and it's 99% the same as the NEP.
Pradhan claims that the Ministries of Education and Skill Development have been collaborating to support students. "To do this, we're combining education and skills to give students both academic and practical skills," the statement reads. He said that there are already over 1,000 skill centers with one lakh people registered in them, and that they also have plans to open 5,000 more of these facilities.
He said, "The Academic Bank of Credit permits students mobility across colleges and universities Institutions and helps in easy incorporation of knowledge and skills into a credit-based system."
'Dummy schools' have become a significant worry over time, according to Pradhan, who also noted it. According to him, children would have the option of taking the class 10 and class 12 board examinations twice, much like the JEE engineering entrance test, where the top score will be picked. The Ministry of Education introduced the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) in August of this year. Under NCF, this modification was announced.
