The Los Angeles Times and celebrity website TMZ broke the first word that the Emmy-nominated actor had apparently drowned to death at his Los Angeles home on Saturday. Perry's death was confirmed by unidentified sources reported by both publications. Messages for response were not immediately returned by his publicists or other agents.

For his role in the comedy, Perry was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2002. One of the greatest blockbusters on television at the time, the series continues to be very popular.
