Due to tensions between India and Canada over the Nijjar murder claims, Gurdas Maan's trip to Canada has been postponed

The scheduled Canada tour for Punjabi artist Gurdas Maan has been postponed indefinitely, according to Gurjit Bal Productions, the concert's organiser.

The news comes as diplomatic relations between Canada and India remain high.

We regret to tell you that the Canada leg of Gurdas Maan's 'Akhiyaan Udeekdiyan' tour, which was supposed to happen this month, has been postponed. We recognize that many of his admirers may be disappointed by this news, and we truly regret for the trouble this may have created," Gurjit Bal Productions said on social media on Sunday.

Additionally, the event management organization said that additional dates for the Gurdas Maan's Canada tour will soon be revealed.

The cancellation of the event had been determined to be the most accountable and necessary course of action for the time being, according to Gurjit Bal Productions, in light of the ongoing diplomatic tension between the two nations and after careful consideration as well as assessment of the unpredictable circumstances.

Gurdas Maan's Canada tour registration costs and ticket purchases will be reimbursed, according to Gurjit Bal Productions. The event was supposed to take place this month.

"We genuinely apologize for any trouble this adjustment may have caused. We appreciate the time, effort, and anticipation that everyone participating in the event put in it. All required actions will be taken to reimburse any registration money or event tickets purchased. According to the event management firm, "detailed information regarding the refund procedure will be shared with you directly via email/website/other preferred communication channel."

After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that Indian operatives were involved in the death of Khalistani rebel Hardeep Singh Nijjar, tensions between India and Canada flared.

On June 18, Nijjar, a Canadian, was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Surrey, a Vancouver suburb with a sizable Sikh community.

Both nations had removed diplomats, and New Delhi had stopped granting Canadians visas.
