Apple Scary Fast Event: Three new models of the M3 chipset are expected to debut

The much anticipated release of Apple's next-generation Silicon chips is almost approaching. The future M3 chips, which are slated to debut on October 30 at 5:00 PM PT, may be introduced during the "Scary Fast" event.

According to many media sources, the forthcoming chip—likely to be called the M3—is expected to provide better energy economy as well as better performance. It is said to be the engine behind Apple's next generation of Mac computers, including the iMac and MacBook Pro. According to Bloomberg, the chip may indicate a switch to a 3-nanometer manufacturing technique and be offered in a variety of configurations depending on the number of cores. Let's take a closer look at Apple's upcoming M3 processors.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg offered information on the various M3 processor variants that Apple plans to introduce in his most recent Power On newsletter. While there have been rumors of four possible M3 variations, information has only been made public for three of them, and the M3 Ultra has no specifics at all. As a result, we expect the three M3 chip variations—M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max—to be released.

Gurman suggests that the base M3 chipset may include eight CPU cores, four of which are efficiency cores and four of which are high-performance cores. It could also include as many as 10 GPU cores, which would be in line with the M2, but it might also have better memory setups to get the most out of each core.

It is said that testing of the more sophisticated M3 processor, dubbed the M3 Pro, is taking place in a variety of environments. Gurman speculates that it might have a maximum of 12 CPU cores—six performance cores and six efficiency cores.

It is also expected that the GPU core count would rise to 18. On the other hand, it is anticipated that the top configuration will include 20 GPU cores, 2 high-performance cores, and 14 CPU cores.

The M3 Max processor is expected to have 16 cores in one of its variants, 12 high-performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. When in its most sophisticated setup, the GPU core count may increase dramatically to 40. The M3 Max, which is supposed to be the best processor in the M3 series, is expected to include 32 GPU cores in its basic configuration, according to Gurman.

Remember that all of the information above comes from unofficial sources and should be taken with a grain of salt.
