Apple continues to save lives! Reddit user is saved by SOS function in tragic auto accident
A Reddit member going by IndependenceLong5230 recently revealed a horrifying account of how Apple's SOS function saved his life following his automobile collision, marking yet another instance in which the tech giant's smart technology is credited with saving a person's life.
Despite the intensity of the crash, IndependenceLong5230 only suffered a few fractures as a result of the event, which took place in the United States, since Apple's SOS function responded quickly.
IndependenceLong5230 described the tragic vehicle collision in a Reddit post that has now received a lot of attention. He described how, during the accident, he was in a position where he was unable to call for aid right away or alert his emergency contacts. Apple's crash detection function came into play in this situation.
The SOS function was shown in action by IndependenceLong5230 in a screenshot posted on the well-known online community, instantly phoning 911 on his behalf when it recognized the collision. Emergency services' swift reaction played a critical role in ensuring that the wounded user got the timely medical care he required.
When emergency personnel got at the site of the collision, IndependenceLong5230's condition allegedly caught them off guard. Despite the severity of the collision, he was able to escape with just a few fractures, a lucky result that is primarily because to the technology developed by Apple that intervened to save his life.
This event is just another example of how Apple's technological advancements and useful features have been crucial in saving lives. The passenger's father was notified of the collision by Apple, according to the screenshot posted by a Reddit user, and he was marked as the emergency contact.
Recall that earlier this year, Mint reported on another instance of an Apple gadget saving a life, in which a 29-year-old woman praised Apple Watch for spotting potentially fatal blood clots in her lungs. According to Kimmie Watkins, a resident of Cincinnati, Local12 stated that while she was sleeping, the Watch picked up an abnormal pulse of 178 beats per minute. The Watch woke her up as she slept off because she was feeling lightheaded and disoriented.
My watch woke me up with an alert that claimed my heart rate had been too high for too long after I had been sleeping for approximately an hour and a half. Therefore, it was excessively high for more than 10 minutes, she informed the magazine.
She said, "I'm very lucky and that, when my nap hadn't ended, that my partner could have found me, maybe asleep on the couch, genuinely sleeping instead of what did happen."
Watkins then sought medical advice from a physician. According to the article, she was informed that she had a saddle pulmonary embolism. It has a 50% mortality rate and restricts blood flow across both lungs.
