In the Majhianv Nagar Panchayat region of Garhwa, there is a very old Radha-Krishna temple where locals place a great deal of confidence. This temple has been a place of worship for the Lord for approximately 500 years. On this site, a large celebration is held in honour of Janmashtami. Devotees travel from all around. This temple also performs 200 female mass weddings each year.

The history of temple priests is extensive

The Radha Krishna temple's priests have a distinguished history. At the moment, Baba Keshav Das is in charge of the temple. Ram Narayan Das is reported to have received the land for the temple at that time from the Nawabs of Lucknow. Raghav Das succeeded him in controlling the temple's succession.


In a similar manner, Ramsharan Das, Sobaran Das, Devaki Das, Mahavir Das, Vishwanath Das, Ramtahal Das, Gulab Das, Ram Lakhan Das, Ramjivan Das, Ganesh Das, Prapanna Das, Bharat Das, and Shatrughan Das each took up the management of the temple in turn.


Every year, thousands of people marry in the temple

Currently, Baba Keshav Narayan Das is the temple's Mahant. While here, Upansik saints like Jhakakkad Das and Dharamdas also resided.


Ram Narayan Das, the temple's founder, purchased 45 acres of land for the temple during the Nawabi era. Around the temple at the time was a thick forest.


In that, Baba Ram Narayan Das used to perform penance. 200 girls are married in mass ceremonies every year in this temple.
