According to the plea, Lalu Prasad Yadav received a sentence of 3.5 years in the Deoghar case while Jagdish Sharma received a maximum punishment of 7 years. In the fodder fraud case, Lalu Prasad Yadav was a key player in a high-level conspiracy. Therefore, he should likewise receive a seven-year maximum sentence.


Currently, Lalu is free on bail

It is significant that Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail in the fodder fraud case by the Jharkhand High Court on April 22, 2022. Due to his poor condition, he is now on bail. The Jharkhand High Court's judgement has been contested by CBI before the Supreme Court.


Let us state that he was given a five-year prison sentence by a special CBI court in Ranchi in the fifth fodder scam case, which involved the theft of more than Rs 139 crore from the Doranda Treasury.


A punishment of Rs 60 lakh was further levied on him. Last year, on February 15, he was found guilty, and on February 21, he was given his punishment. The retreat took place between 1990 and 1995.
