Dhanbad. Because of the inadequate way that 108 ambulances are run for medical services, patients are actually dying. The breakdown of the 108 ambulance claimed the life of a pregnant woman, causing a commotion in the Dhanbad Health Department.

At his level, the Civil Surgeon is looking into the situation. There are 38 ambulances out of the 108 total in Dhanbad. However, it is astonishing that only outdated ambulances are used to transport patients. In Dhanbad, there are 25 vintage 108 ambulances. Ten of these ambulances are total wrecks now.

Ambulance technician, driver, and nurse not reinstated

The remaining ambulances are unable to operate correctly for a variety of technical reasons. The Ranchi headquarters deployed 9 ambulances with the number 108 to Dhanbad concurrently in August of last month. However, the ambulances' expert technician driver and nurse have not yet been hired back. Despite this, the operation of new ambulances has begun.

Patient died in anguish because the ambulance wasn't fixed for two hours.

After being transported in a 108 ambulance, pregnant 20-year-old Shanti Devi from Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital passed away at Mahuda. In Mahuda, the ambulance broke down. The patient died because an ambulance took almost two hours to arrive.

A fresh ambulance was sent for the patient, according to 108 Ambulance Manager Sanjay Kumar Dashondhi's clarification. However, it had certain shortcomings. After receiving the information, another ambulance was dispatched, but Bank More and other locations had heavy traffic. The other ambulance took longer to get there than expected.

More than 20 drivers and employees are needed for a new ambulance

In Dhanbad, the workforce needed for new ambulances has not been recovered. About 20 drivers, emergency technicians, and nurses are in short supply. The department's officials claim that both the district and headquarters levels are involved in the reinstatement process. On the other hand, operating the ambulance in this circumstance without enough personnel is endangering the patients.
