The Cyberdog 2, a robotic dog that can perform backflips, skateboard, and even play fetch, was recently presented by Xiaomi. 

Robotics is now a rapidly becoming reality rather than simply a sci-fi fiction. And some of China's largest digital companies are setting the pace for the public adoption of this cutting-edge technology. One of them is Xiaomi, the company behind the well-known Redmi Note series. Following the release of the Xiaomi Cyberdog in 2021, a robotic dog that some deemed to have a "ominous" appearance because to its too mechanical appearance, Xiaomi has returned with yet another four-legged machine that may cause actual canines to doubt their very existence.

Meet the Xiaomi Cyberdog 2, an improved and more intelligent iteration of the previous model. It is no longer the Boston Dynamics Spot clone it formerly was; instead, it has a decent head and more realistic proportions that resemble a Doberman. Additionally, it is 40% lighter and 16% smaller. Along with the new look come additional features including an e-prism skin that changes colour based on its mood and better conduct.

On Monday, Xiaomi posted a video showcasing the robot dog's incredible agility. It is capable of doing a variety of stunts, including backflips, skating, and even fetch. Just as with a real dog, users may communicate with it via gestures, touch, and speech.

However, CyberDog 2's interaction with people is what really sets it apart. Unlike its predecessor, it behaves like a genuine puppy, detecting its owner's wants and feelings and acting accordingly. Due of its high level of empathy, it reacts more naturally and as a person would, especially by expressing how it is feeling through body language. For instance, the CyberDog 2 will respond with a cheerful tail wag and dancing around if its owner is delighted.

Despite having an astounding array of skills, the Cyberdog isn't designed to take the place of a real dog. The movie proves that a real dog and a Cyberdog may coexist together within a home. The robot's built-in camera, which can stream video to any connected device, may also enable the owner to keep an eye on what their dog is up to.

There is currently no information on a release outside of China, and the Xiaomi Cyberdog 2 is still supposedly targeted towards enthusiasts and developers. In the nation, it costs 12,999 Yuan, or around Rs 1.5 lakh.
